Little Giant Girl
Today we ventured into Liverpool, which isn't really that far from us, but we don't go very often as we quite like Manchester.
We went to see the Little Giant Girl, her Uncle and Dog.... 3 giant puppets which parade the streets of Liverpool this weekend as part of the Titanic Memorial celebrations.
The puppets were def worth seeing and as so often the case, the photos don't quite capture the great atmosphere in Liverpool's streets. Tens of thousands seemed to line the streets to see the three puppets. Everyone extremely friendly and there was a carneval atmosphere, but at times it was a little scary, when people were pushing from behind and nothing moving in front of you. P helped me up onto a window ledge of an old bank building and from there we did not only have great views, but also felt a lot safer.
We also took the opportunity to visit the new Liverpool museum and I have to say it is definitely worth a visit. It was of course really crowded too and I am looking forward to going back to see everything in more detail.
A little trip round Liverpool One and the sneaky chinese in a great restaurant (which incidentally ends my run of 10 meat free days!)
Altogether a great day out in good weather and lovely company! So nice to spend quality time together!!
Here is to Liverpool! They definitely know how to put on cultural events!!
