Moon landing

Woke up early to finish packing. We arrived at Heathrow early to grab some lunch before our flight. I love airports and as we were using Terminal 5 we were checked in and through security in twenty minutes.

The flight to Vancouver was great as we passed over some amazing scenery. We flew over Iceland, Greenland and then Canada and the Rookies. The picture is of Greenland and the beauty of the frozen, snow capped mountains looked like another world. It was truly breathtaking and the scale was overwhelming.

We also flew through a crazy storm and our plane was actually hit by lighting! The plane shock and the captain confirmed that the lighting had hit the front end of the plane, travelled along the length of the plane and was then discharged back into the atmosphere. They then had to check all the instruments to ensure nothing had been affected by the strike. Luckily if was fine as the thought of the plane coming down in a frozen wasteland was not good.

We're now settled into our hotel in Vancouver and trying to quickly get over the jet-lag.
