Giant Steps Are What We Take

Off to Liverpool today to meet up with Ashleigh, my BF's daughter (how weird does that sound? V weird from the inside, I can tell you) and her lovely boyfriend, Olly.

We didn't know this spectacular awaited us and I feel privileged to have seen it. I've seen that many blippers have posted images, many better than mine but this shows how the Giant was moved around the town. 'Pirates' on the vehicle behind jump off a platform, two to a rope, to operate the legs/feet, so smoothly it has to be said. You can see how small the 'Lilliputians' look here.

We saw him being lifted over the top of the Chinese Arch by crane, strangely emotional. It was truly fantastic to see and then he went on his way and we wandered back the way and stumbled on the 'Little Girl' finishing her day's walk. I missed her dog but have seen the pictures. When we got back to Long Eaton, we googled it and found all these miseries bemoaning it. None of whom had actually seen it. Isn't that always the way?
