Grey day

The weather is as grey, wet and windy as this poor image suggests.
This is Brockholes on the edge of Preston.
For years it was a gravel excavation site, which left large expanses of water behind.
It opened last year as a visitor centre and today was the day I chose to visit for the first time.
It was so cold and wet I didn't see it at its best but I could see the attraction to it on a nicer day.
Long walks, interesting buildings, restaurant and information.
There are also conference rooms and you can even get married there.
The buildings cover the area of half a football pitch apparently and they are floating.
They were constructed on the lake bed and then it was flooded to raise the structure up to its current position.
Otherwise a very slow news day.
