More signs of Spring

We are told that we are about to experience the coldest May for 100 years. This time last year we started our Walking Festival in warm, summery weather. I think that thermals, full waterproofs and hand warmers will be the order of the day when we start on Saturday.

I blipped the bottom of this apple tree the other day. Here are some of the tiny buds which have appeared. You can already see some signs of damage from the rain, hail and cold, but we remain hopeful that they will open.
