Blue-eyes
"...Baby's got blue eyes...." More on flickr and over there!
Last night one of the facebook pages I subscribe to challenged us to go "screen free" and I commented that cbeebies (or a DVD or something) in the morning was the only way I could get a shower at the moment and did they have any better ideas. So the suggestion was to just bring the kids into the bathroom! I thought about it and so this morning decided Ben could play in the bath with his toys, and Charley could sit in his bouncy chair while I had my shower. Seemed like a plan. Then Ben announced he wanted a bath! So we filled the bath. All went swimmingly! Until I couldn't persuade Ben to get OUT of the bath... or to get dressed once I succeeded in getting him out. Or to eat his breakfast, once I'd managed to stop him running around starkers.
So we were quite quite late to church! Poor Steve walked to church early in the rain, walked home in the rain after helping set up the PA to help get us ready, and walked home from church again in the rain at the end because we took the car home. Soggy man. He volunteered to go out for baking powder and milk during the only dry spell of the day.... That was after letting me and Charley have a break, while he took Ben out to a birthday party where Ben showed off his musical bump winning skills (worth reading the blip to find out what they were!!).
Bedtime was the most traumatic bedtime we've had in a long long time with both boys crying for bed well before seven. Ben was hysterical by the time we'd got him upstairs. Charley is going through a phase of not wanting to sleep in the evenings without a boob in his mouth, and not staying asleep for half an hour after me creeping out of bed - and doing a massive poo just after we've put him into his overnight nappy.
We have not managed to test out the overnighter pocket nappy that Louise dropped off for us yet!
Bedtime now, and I am soaking. I am even more soaked (in baby drool, and puke) than Charley is. And given it's not going to get a great deal better overnight I don't really see much point in doing anything about it :o/
