Cricket to ride?
Carlos, sporting the new fashion accessory for all Bearded Dragons with a sense of high fashion - The Standard Brown Cricket Fascinator.
Can be worn at a jaunty angle and is guaranteed not to budge, even when you want it too.
Pesky crickets!
Busy first day back after the 'jaunt' to Paris and the recovery phase over the BHW. Still utterly exhausted but I don't think that is from the trip to be honest.
Our examiner was in for ICT - a very positive experience which has now seen virtually the whole year group secure at least 1 GCSE in ICT and 5 exceptional students push way beyond to secure 3 or 4 GCSEs. The examiner commented on the quality of their work and the fact that they are clearly expected to work individually - the personalisation of the work by the students was duly noted and this was really important for us as we try hard to ensure that they are genuinely independent and not 'spoon fed'. I don't think that the students realise that we are building a work related skill when we say "No" when they ask if we will sort a problem out or "do something" to help them...I am quite harsh sometimes that I expect them to find an answer, solve the problem and team work with others to get there. Pays off in the end though. One particular student's work was deemed to be A'level standard and was "the best spreadsheet assignment" that the examiner had ever seen. The only feedback she wrote on her sheet for the exam board was "Outstanding".
Today I am very proud of my students, once again.
Apart from that, I am trying to retain my calm exterior, whilst internally I am wrangling with anger and frustration caused by lies and false claims ...it's frustrating that an individual who has so very little to do with our lives seems so capable of creating significant waves, with both absence and occasional presence. It genuinely does my head in.
Bath and bed.
Night night

PS Apparently I should be in the stocks, as I was irreverent...Fisherking and my Nana noticed...the glory of my brief moment of fame has been somewhat dimished by this. Boooooo.
