new shoes

my plan was to go into town today and buy a couple of shirts and some shoes. i am going away next weekend and will be surrounded by very beautiful people and i will need to look a million dollars for four days. but i simply don't have that many smart things to wear...

anyway, i ended up with shoes,
a book - 'the beautiful machine' by graeme fife
2 cds
3 plectrums - fender thins
1 coffee - nero; the superior coffee chain
2 beers and
scampi and chips...

it is quite an occasion when i buy new shoes.
the last pair i bought were for my wedding 4 years ago.
the pair before that i can't remember buying but i still have them and wear them every time i need to wear shoes - as opposed to cycling shoes or trainers.

as you may be able make out, these have maps inside! gimicky for sure but they suckered me



the cds were 'ninja tuna' by mr. scruff and 'alas i cannot swim' by laura marling which is the best record i have heard this year
