In the bleak midwinter.
Taken through the holly tree at the bottom of our back garden at 3.15pm this afternoon, the shortest day in the Northern Hemisphere.
I despaired of anything remotely creative using natural light today it was so flat, dull and dreary but just before it started to get dark this bit of light appeared surrounded by dark scudding clouds.
No wonder we like the bright lights of Christmas to lift these dreich days but it is good to know that the days will start to get longer from now on.
Lots of berries on this holly. Must go out and pick some in the next couple of days.
