Lazy Christmas Eve

Just had the laziest Christmas Eve I can remember. Woke up to pancakes, coffee and The Gruffalo.
Didn't even shower until lunchtime!

Then set about cleaning the house (slowly with lots of tea breaks). Even managed a chapter of my book at one stage. We weren't killing ourselves today.

We had our lovely friends over for our new traditional Urban Family Christmas Eve this afternoon. I make my family favourite cheese (jacket) potatoes washed down with lots of wine. Unfortunately Squidge had missed her nap so we were forced to apologise for her tired tantrums and brattish behaviour (I put it down to tiredness but secretly worry that she's like that anyway sometimes!)
We had a lovely few hours with them all though as their son Sam is a delight and we enjoyed cuddles with baby Ava too.

Tonight we put Operation Dummy Extraction into play. We held a ceremony involving the stocking by the fireplace - 2 carrots (for Mummy Reindeer and Daddy Reindeer) and then Squidge placed her dummy in there for Baby Reindeer. It went surprisingly well. That was until bedtime. Put it this way, she has been screaming for it for 45 minutes so far. Merry Christmas all! It's going to be a long night here!!! Ha ha!!'
