Christmas Day 2014

It started early. Dex woke his sister up at 4.30am which was too early for us! He stayed in her bed until 5.30am and then they both came into our bed where we told them they had to wait until 6.00am to open their stockings. We had a minute by minute countdown from Olivia which wasn't as relaxing as we hoped! Once stockings were opened we crept down stairs to see if Santa had left anything else. The excitement was indescribable and magical but Dex was most alarmed at the mess Santa had made with his sooty footprints next to the fireplace!
We opened a few presents, had breakfast, opened a few more, got dressed and then opened a few more. Both kids seemed delighted with their gifts as were Mummy and Daddy.
We invited friends over for Christmas lunch which was a lot of fun as their six year old twins get on so well with my two. I'd made games such as pass the parcel, Christmas bingo, pin the nose on Rudolph and we'd even made puppets of everyone so Olivia did a puppet show...which was slightly bizarre! Hubby and Simon prepared all the food and served up a lovely Christmas lunch with all the trimmings - it was fab.
Afterwards we went for a walk to the park and playground to let off some steam and then we headed home for my infamous chocolate log cake, Christmas pud and various other goodies followed by some guitar playing and singing from the boys.
A very merry Christmas day.
