Off They Go

My son Alex and his girlfriend Louise have taken off for a trip of a lifetime. They will be gone for a year or two....well that's the plan anyway.

It was a funny old day. Friends and relatives popped by to say goodbye. We sat about and chatted until Louise's parents arrived...and it was that dreaded time to go.

Took the happy couple to the airport. Had a coffee while they booked in. Then it was off we go.

Said all our goodbyes....cried a lot....told them we loved them...and off they went.

Cried all the way home...crying now...what am I like. I wouldn't mind but I'll see them at the end of the month.
