A fascinating contraption
We decided that a pre-Christmas trip to France with our good friends from Marple would be an excellent idea, especially as it would offer opportunities to celebrate my birthday of the previous week. We therefore set off for two nights in Calais, where our friends know of excellent restaurants because of their frequent stopovers on their way driving to their house in the Languedoc.
Our first evening was spent eating at La Sole Meunière, one of two outstanding places where we ate. Your mouth will water reading its good-value 30.00€ menu from which we ate.
The contraption in the photograph is like a closing bureau desk that can be wheeled around, with compartments inside where cheese may be concealed!
This little gallery of photographs may give an impression of the good time we had that evening. And we'll be back with more self-indulgence tomorrow!
