Tay Bridge on a cold, choppy, New Year's Eve.
A cold and overcast day.
In a year when it seems I have had endless Hospital appointments, perhaps it was fitting that I should have a Clinic appointment on the last day of the year. I got the all clear for the scalp procedure - everything has healed perfectly and I don't need to go back again!
On my way home I stopped at the iconic Tay Rail Bridge, where it was windy and the river was choppy. I know, I know that everything draws your eye into the left hand side of the photo but the 'standard' view I shot looked boring.
At least it wasn't as windy as it appeared to be on the 28th December 1879 when the first Bridge fell down killing all the passengers on a train which was passing over at the time. Sadly, the engineer who designed the Bridge died broken hearted a year later.
Maybe not the happiest of Blips to celebrate completing my 365th continous Blip challenge - but I am only too well aware that life is not all sweetness and light. I have tried to reflect this throughout the year - a year which has seen many difficult events but also some great highlights.
Personally, I have received tremendous support from my Blip friends as I have undergone some problems with my health. My wife and I have had several Blipmeets which have been a real blessing. I believe that my skills have improved and I certainly have become a lot more observant though the discipline of taking a daily photo.
So thank you to all the friends I have made in this first year. I am sure I will continue to Blip - whether every day or not time will tell.
May I wish you all a very Happy New Year.
