New Years Eve

A year ago I decided to start a New Years Challenge: to take a photo a day for the whole year!  I chose to take up this challenge because although I had quite a lot of photographic experience and took loads of photos (on average 1000 photos a month), I felt that I was not exploring and experimenting as much as I could.  I felt taking a photo a day would force me to look at different subjects, and experiment with different techniques.  It has done this and so much more.  Writing a journal has helped me to reflect on my day, my photographs, my life and myself.  I have had so many positive comments from friends who have seen my photos on facebook and they have speared me on during days when it has been difficult to find inspiration.  The comments from other users has been great and being able to look at other people photos and journals has been inspiring.  It's interesting how on days when I've struggling to find a subject for my photo the results have often been some of my more interesting captures resulting in many comments.

My friend entered this journey with me and took up the challenge too it has been great to talk to her about the experience of Blipfoto.  I was at her house tonight celebrating Hogmanay.  This is a photo of my husband and her boyfriend relaxing just before midnight.

Happy New Year Blipfoto!   Looking forward to continuing my photo journey.
