Host UK New Year at West Kirby

There was no New Year-related activity in West Kirby and so we waited for the countdown in the telly - London fireworks were absolutely marvelous - Anne and I made a toast as the New Year came. We had fruit cake with our non-alcoholic drink as well.

Photo above shows both Christmas (Christmas tree on the left) and New Year (telly with London fireworks on the right). This photo could not have been taken on a perfect timing. Fireworks were perfect on the telly as the photo was taken.

Anne drove me around Wirral in the morning. We went to see the house where she lived when she was still a kid and we also passed by grammar school where she went to.

She drove all the way to New Brighton and got out of the car for a few minutes to walk around King's Parade. It was very windy and chilly. We drove again further to the centre of New Brighton to see the lighthouse and Fort Perch Rock. We wanted to go inside the fort but it was closed and there was a chubby tuxedo cat guarding the door. From there you can see Liverpool. In fact, the Liverpool Cathedral can be seen from there with its vastness. We then decided to drive again and proceed to another town called Port Sunlight but we got lost (Anne didnt own a GPS device) and lost a lot of time. I was not much of a help either and so we decided to go back to the house where we rested for the whole afternoon. I actually watched TV from 3pm til late!

For dinner, Anne cooked fried beef with sweet potato for me and I was so stuffed before going to bed.
