Badger sett

I was bought a book called 'Badgerlands' by Patrick Barkham by my dear wife. It stimulated me to look for a sett I'd last been to a long time ago. The whole area around the tree is honeycombed with holes and one of them had a pile of recently deposited earth outside so it looks like it is still being used.

However as I descended I found a dead badger at the bottom of the slope. No idea how it died but it didn't seem to have been dead long. Really sad.
