The Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew

This morning we head over to the other side of town to visit the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew.  Its an amazing place but is absolutely packed and its really hot today so its hard work but well worth it ... what amazing architecture.

We head towards the Khao San Road area for some food and were planning to go the Thai Boxing but its not on tonight so we decide to go to the Cinema instead.  We head back to the Sukhumvit area taking a tuk tuk a short distance then a bizarre ferry which goes down a very narrow canal, very quickly.  You have handles to pull up plastic sheets to cover the side of the ferry so you don't get wet and the roof also comes down at times to go under low bridges.  More like a fairground ride then a normal ferry but good fun and takes us quickly back to Asok so we walk to Sukhumvit from here.  On arrival at the cinema there is only one film we both want to see and its already started so we forget that idea for tonight. 

We head back to Soi 38, a great street food place Julia and Udo showed us, for some dinner then back to the apartment.  Julia has been preparing for an interview she has tomorrow and everyone seems tired so we have an early night.
