Brew Brothers

After my post on Sunday, I decided I should work harder at finding somewhere independent to go for coffee in Kendal. This proved a lot easier than I'd anticipated because when I asked IntoTheHills where he fancied meeting up, this morning, he said we should go to Brew Brothers.

It's when you go somewhere like this that you really how boring the furniture in franchised coffee shops is. The tables and chairs in Brew Brothers are an eclectic mix, to say the least, as is the crockery! But it all works because someone's taken the care and time to get the place looking exactly the way they want it to. Plus, the staff are really friendly and the coffee is *excellent*. (The food looked great, too, but we didn't eat.)

If you live in or near Kendal, do give it a go; it's way nicer than the Costa in town and Nero's. The Costa in K Village has the better location but that is soulless inside plus there's the risk of being smothered in tumbleweed.
