What's That?

It may not be the greatest photo I've ever taken, but I like it. It's those stunned little looks on the faces of the two birds that keeps me looking at them.

I wonder, in their birdie world, what exactly are they thinking? Was it the sudden sprinkling of the rain that caught them unawares? Did they sense a cat approaching? Or hadn't they tasted the kookaburras and magpies mince before?

We'll never know.
