Sidneia
Hot day (nothing new there), but overcame initial reluctance and set off to the golf club with HH. I made it all the way up the 1st hole and back down the 5th,, happy to let him carry on, sharing a cart with a friend. They managed all of 9 before confirming that the 19th is the best hole on the course.
I wandered briefly with the camera but felt no inspiration whatsoever, which was more than clear from the results. Then went back to the clubhouse and ordered sinfully delicious rounds of hot cheese and onion mix on sliced French bread, with fresh orange juice.
Back home, watching swallows and/or swifts swooping and swirling and hearing the incessant chatter of the parakeets. Another siesta, before I eventually bestirred myself to resume yesterday’s weeding and planting. Realizing I had no blip to speak of, I cornered Sidneia, the caretaker’s wife (who does far more care-taking than he does) for a quick portrait, before we grabbed a quick bite and headed back down to the furnace of Rio.
