Up Helly Aa - Brownie style

We held our own fire festival tonight at Brownies. After a discussion about Vikings and Up Helly Aa The Brownies, with the help of our young leaders, made a Viking ship complete with a dragons head, a helmet and shield and a few made swords too. They all made a mini Viking to go in the boat as well. A lot to pack in to an hour but we did it. Thanks to ZE1Christie for letting me show the photos from blip. They were really useful especially the one of 'brush'.
The grand finale was the burning of the Viking ship. After lots of chants and cheers it eventually went up in smoke. It was all very exciting as it was enveloped in flames.
