Sunny Morning for Renwick

Only a few hundred feet higher than we are but a lot more seasonal. Yan and I spent an hour or so chucking and catching (only to find they have disappeared) snowballs - a perfect consistency for snow sculptures and games. I decided not to go back out of Renwick the way I came in as the road appeared to be vertical ice. So we opted for a gentler accent then descent more suitable for Ladies in their late fifties and woosy German Shepherds. This is one of the views from where I parked. Renwick in the distance by the trees. You can just make out some of the outcrops where there are numerous old Lead mines and right on the skyline on the right looking like a little black blob is The Cafe at the top of Hartside Pass. The views from here are brilliant taking in the whole of the Lake District Mountains and the Solway Coast with the Dumfries shire Hills in the background. It will be fantastic today but getting there is sometimes a bit tricky. The road is kept open if possible. But there is usually a lot more snow  sometimes twenty feet drifts to cut through. So I am afraid it is home for tea and buns.
