North Berwick

Today's the day ........................ for childhood memories

When I was young, we used to come to North Berwick on holiday.

We stayed in Seaholme Guesthouse on the sea front and there were always lots of us - aunts, uncles and cousins - all in North Berwick at the same time.  You can imagine what fun we had.  North Berwick was the perfect place for a family holiday with plenty of things for everyone to do.

A lot of the town is just the same as I remember it from those days - Seaholme  is still there - and still a guesthouse.  But this place, where there is now a car park and a place to leave your boat over the winter, used to be a big outdoor swimming pool.  I can remember going there and watching people taking part in swimming galas.

The only leftover remnants of those days are the brightly coloured doors that used to be the changing cubicles ...................
