Sunset Over The Alps

We left the hotel in Mauritius about 5am. I was hoping to get a sunrise which was due about 5.45am but it was foggy. The whole fortnight had also been disappointing for sunrises/sunsets, probably due to the dire weather experienced over the island during the last few weeks.

I always take my camera on the plane and got this sunset over the Swiss Alps about 4.15pm (GMT). The sun left a lovely red glow on the mountains. Taken at 40,000 ft,  ground speed 507mph,    -45C

Despite the poor weather over our fortnight there we did manage to get time on the beach in between the rain spells. We enjoyed the holiday. If it had been our first time it would have left a poor impression but it was our sixth visit so we know better. The best time for a holiday is around November and April-June. We will make sure we go during these times. The Mauritians are lovely people and we will go back, probably to the same hotel.
