at home with an Ivysaurus

Sunday lunch

We had a lovely day today- went round to Tilda's house for Sunday lunch.  Ivy- who I expected to take a while to find her feet in a new place- was in her element playing with every single one of Tildas toys, but poor Tilda wasn't feeling very well so wasn't really in the mood for company and had to have a dose of calpol (a word we've discovered Ivy can say) and a big nap. Edith arrived whilst Tilda was in bed, so Ivy had someone else to direct her affection at. Lunch was amazing- lamb with yorkshire pudding. Simon is absoloutly right- why should the glory that is yorkshire pudding be limited to an accompaniment to beef? I'm going to push for yorkshire pudding to come with pork and crackling next time we do a roast :)

This is the girls after dinner eating grapes, or it was until Ivy discovered it was hilarious to feed the grapes to the dog- whilst the others watched her. Tilda and Ivy had yoghurt for pudding, whilst the grownups ate pavlova- Ivy finished her yoghurt then starting eating Tildas- so Tilda offered Ivy her pot, which Euan and I were both so impressed with.

We're working on Ivy's manners- she's said please for a long time- so we've started on thanks when she handed something. I thought it was easier than 'thankyou', and thought  'ta' might confuse her since we never say it. We're also trying to get her to put a 'one' in front of 'two, three' but are so far having limited sucess (as soon as we say one, she says 'TWO!' instead of repeating)
