Don't go
Saying goodbye was hard this morning as we hadn't really resolved anything properly. Squidge picked up on something and was very cuddly with us both too. It was hard not to look at her and snap out of our respective moods. She is the cutest wee thing right now.
After Angus had gone to work, I didn't have much energy so we lazed about a fair bit at home. She's becoming much easier to amuse lately. I can work a little, read and even cook and she will play a bit more independently with her toys. Makes life a lot easier.
She's also a brilliant little actress. Her favourite games are recreating scenes from Frozen (one of us lies down and pretends to be Anna waking Elsa up to build a snowman, "The sky's awake so I'm awake..." etc), her magic wand turning me into various animals and Doctor Brown Bear (a character from Peppa Pig) conversations on the phone. Her mannerisms as she paces the lounge with the "phone" (an old calculator or TV remote normally) stuck to her ear are so comical.
"Doctor Brown Bear, Mummy is not very well..."
"She is lying down a lot"
Ahem. Just a sore head this morning that's all my darling!
This afternoon we dragged ourselves out and to the shop to buy a few missing ingredients for a spag bol, stopping by the Horse and Jockey for a quick dance to an amazing old time swing band called Dr Butler's Handstand Medicine Band. What a name! And what a great band. They were dressed in 1950s get-up and Squidge became their mascot for half an hour dancing in her little leopard print coat and boots in front of them. A lovely memory I managed to capture on video.
