A slice of Lesley's life

Beam me up Scotty.

Hands up to the NHS. Again. We are certainly getting our money's worth this year. For variety, a different child, a different hospital and a routine, scheduled appointment instead of an emergency. Perhaps we could become mystery shoppers. Anyway Anna is now in the system for her first operation and will be having a tooth removed under general anaesthetic. I have reassured her they are probably the smartest people in the hospital. And that is no disrespect to anyone else in there but I do think they are amazing. Educational too as Anna learned two new words: impeccable (her dental hygiene, remarkably) and susceptible: (another word for a juice and smoothie free life.) Everyone we saw (5 people with various job titles I didn't quite understand, well apart from surgeon and orthodontist) was kind and fabulous and lovely. All in stark contrast to the extremely judgemental dentist we saw in the first place. But still, another heartfelt round of applause to the fabulous NHS.

The picture is Anna being loaded into the very cool x-Ray machine that then revolved around her head. Was quite expecting her to be teleported somewhere.

In between all that I managed so fairly pleasant work and am now on my way to a night at the theatre to see, "Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown". Am hoping it won't be too close to home...
