Mallards Lake

But not a mallard to be seen. We were walking to Mote Park past Mallards Lake as we often do, looking for a photo opportunity but without much success when, from out of the blue (grey), this appeared. A cold, late winter afternoon with the light fading, we were spotted by the geese and swans who thought "food" and made a beeline for us. They were wrong, we had no food but they did frame the shot for me, so next time we'll have to remember to bring some bread to reward them.

Spent the morning messing with the prison work amongst other things. Trying to get to the bottom of a very slow broadband. Only 4mbps download and 0.7mbps upload. Even the TalkTalk speed test says this is poor. I had been on the phone to TalkTalk but they were not able to rectify the fault from their end so are sending an engineer. A high risk strategy this as if it is the fault of our wiring we'll have to pay for the visit.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was the fault of the internal wiring as we inherited a house with many telephone points and have never been able to identify the master telephone socket. At least we'll, hopefully, get to the bottom of it.
