Haunted forest.

The contorted,moss encrusted branches of many of the native trees gave a haunted appearance to this part of Pureora forest. This is on a path at an altitude of around 3000 feet as we climbed to the top of Mount Pureora. There is a reliable heavy rainfall in this area which allows prolific growth of the mosses and lichens on many of the trees and ferns. A magical place.
