Room with a View

The building in this shot is the University of Glasgow I was there for a meeting today with a group of adults who are thinking about going to University.  For some they’ve been out of education for a long time and the others are just hoping it won’t be like school. It was a great day to visit, as the light was good and bright. It’s the second-oldest university in Scotland after St Andrews and the fourth oldest in the English-speaking world.

This view is one of its most famous looking up from Kelvingrove Park-but imagine the view the other way round.  Maybe I’ll try that one next time I’m there.

At least our visit today had the desired effect-they met a few folks they’ll be working with and it doesn’t seem quite so bad after all.

“It makes a difference, doesn't it, whether we fence ourselves in, or whether we are fenced out by the barriers of others?”
