Life with Alice

Home Alone

When I was little, I positively hated it when mum left. I tried everything I could think of to get her to stay. I still don't like it, but I know now that she will come back. I usually look up from whatever I'm doing, but I let her go without jumping or yelping. Once she is gone, I wait. I take up post on the doormat, and sleep there until I finally hear the key in the lock. I refuse to sleep anywhere else when mum isn't at home, so she got us a bigger and softer doormat for Christmas. When she steps inside the door I jump up on her lap and cover her face with kisses. Super happy!
