On this day in 1851 Great Ormond St Hospital for Sick Children, the first hospital in England to provide in-patient beds specifically for children was founded in London.

On this day in 2005 YouTube was launched by a group of college students. YouTube has more than 1 billion users & 300 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute.

On this day in 869 Saint Valentine, Roman bishop and martyr died. St Valentine of Rome was imprisoned for performing weddings for soldiers who were forbidden to marry. Legend states that before his execution he wrote a letter signed "Your Valentine" as a farewell.
