Damn dams
This my friends is an ice dam. The brownish thing sticking out.......is a nylon stocking filled with ice melt. It is so cold -20f or -28c with the windchill here. When the wind doesn't blow, which is um..NEVER it's about -9f or -26c.
So as you can see........the nylon boobies are slow moving. Nothing melts at these temps. You can see a little crevice.......
Otherwise known as wishful thinking. I went into the eaves ( part of the house under the roof...we use for storage.) and there was no ice. I found the mouse brought up and left in my bedroom last fall. It was gross. SO gross. It had an x on each eye.
I didn't get a chance to blip this yesterday. Last night I watched the SNL (Saturday Night Live) special. I remember the first show in 1975. It was so cool. We thought it was hysterical. For 40 years it has made me laugh. In 1975 I was 17 and this was my first glimpse of political satire, of nonsensical jokes and funny funny people. I watched every Saturday to see what their take was on what had happened the prior week. Be it a crisis, or a scandal we couldn't wait for them to show us the humour. I absorbed it like a drug. I needed it to make sense of what was happening. As a nation we needed it to make it through. After 911 Paul Simon sang "the boxer" in front of the firemen and policemen of NY. I see it now and still cry. Mya Rudolph in an interview said as she stood next to them and dust rose from their coats as they moved, she was in awe as we all were. We needed heros.
So I watched it all. Still don't understand the appeal of Miley Cyrus. Kanye scared the crap out of me, and Betty White made out with Bradley Cooper. (I am so happy he likes older women.).
Now it's the morning and I am starving. Tony is starving too. Can you hear him? I have one window completely covered with frost and he is beyond irritated asking me to clear it off. There may be a bug involved. He was chirping.
So the Southern Hemisphere is now fast asleep and I am stretching to see the morning.
See you later today.
