FIGGY's Sporadic Blips

By Figgy

Rhododendrons ......

.... are in bloom all over the estate. Many of them stand around 10ft tall and we have some which are much larger.

We have every cololur imaginable from pale peach / salmon pink through to deep velvety red. This is a particularly attractive specimen which sits at the top of the cycle track.

In Nepal, where they are the national flower, rhododendrons are enjoyed for their sour taste. They can be pickled or processed and drunk as a flavoured juice and , fresh or dried, the Nepalese add them to fish curry in the belief that they soften the bones.
