Diary of an Edinburgher

Caught the culprit!

A day of trauma - and I don't even mean the painting and housework.

JR went to the Links this morning. All was going fairly well, though Archie was being a wee bit pushed around by a big lab. He kept coming back to JR for shelter. Then along came a puppy. Archie growled at it. He's not keen on puppies.

The big lab then attacked Archie. Archie squealed. JR had to pick him up, and her coat is covered in mud where the big dog was trying to get at Archie!! Dogs are like playground bullies - they all pick on one smaller than themselves! Thank goodness this is a very rare occurrence.

I spent the day painting windows and doing domestic chores. Now - paint and me can be a dangerous combination. But paint, me and a ladder is asking for trouble... I once fell off a ladder with a full can of green paint. Fortunately it was outside on a deck (which then became a green deck).

At one point today I was standing on the toilet cistern, vaguely wondering why it kept flushing. I kept standing on the buttons.

The way the former owners built in the shower is most annoying - because there is a glass section built over part of the window, and it means I can't reach the window ledge to fix it, but I can see it. It was so awkward, and I was cursing them doing it - they must have thought/been told that there would be problems in a year or so, when the moisture began to affect the paintwork, but went ahead with it, knowing they weren't going to be there. Grrrrr.

Also did a big clean up including the strange marks about knee height on the big mirror...

Knee height? Actually, dog height. Caught him at it - Licking his reflection!

He seems none the worse for his trauma this morning.

Though JR requires wine this evening in a delayed reaction...
