Today's the day ......................... to fish

There are times when Morecambe Bay - and in particular the Kent estuary - looks like proper sea.

Today was such a day with a high tide that brought the water right to the edge of the promenade at Sandside.  There was a strong, bitterly cold wind too that whipped up the surface into proper white horses.  This fisherman must have been frozen as he waited for a passing flounder to take the bait.

Perhaps he should have adopted the same strategy as two fisherman further along.  Their rods were propped up on stands - while they looked on from the comfort of their car ......................
