Today's the day ............................ to make a new door

Ever since we have lived in our house here, we've never been able to put the car in the garage.

We've been here now for twenty-five years, so that's a fair old time.  The reason for it is that the garage door, which is presumably the original one from when the house was built in 1937, is a great big wooden thing on castors.  To open it, you pull it round on its castors which run in a metal groove in the concrete floor and the whole door eventually lies flat against the inside wall.  Well, at least, that's what used to happen until it lost a few castors and some of the wood got a bit rotten.

Today however, Tim and Callum made a new framework into which the garage door people have inserted a super-duper, battery-operated, up-and-over door.  Then they've made a custom built side door so we can come and go when we haven't got the car.  You can see the splendid result almost finished down below.

And it's always good to have a picture of your handiwork to put in the portfolio ..............................!
