All lined up

All the majesty of the Alps lined up for you today - from the Aguille Verte on the left - through the Tour, Midi, Tacul, Mont Blanc, Gouter &Bionnassay through to the Miage on the right - everything was there to take your breath away. High on the side of Mont Joly it was impossible not to keep stopping at each rise or opening in the trees - the vista just went on & on.
Where we were at around 2200m it was simply glorious t-shirt & jacket weather -but up high the spindrift trails told a different story & many of the glaciers & ridges look scoured.

The last two days of snow meant that little diversions through the trees were called for - but tellingly many of the pristine looking bowls hadn't been touched - everything is very loaded & just ready to go - a good incentive for me to keep taking it easy, just push & find the boundaries slowly - and of course stop for the odd coffee & medicinal brandy.
