The First of Many Petals

There is record-breaking snowfall on the east coast where I grew up. The New England area has been hit the hardest. Meanwhile, here in the Pacific Northwest, we have experienced one of the mildest winters I can remember, nary a snowflake in sight. This past week, crocuses have begun pushing through to greet the sun, and delicate pink petals grace our path as we walk.
