A no-muzak haven in the city!
The haar cooled us all down this morning. So if you were leaving the house early, you'd have to have a coat on, knowing it would be hot later. Mind you, it might not - I've known it to stay for three days while the rest of the country basked in sunshine.
I did my chores and by the time I was ready for off, the sun had broken through and it was warm. But no! I timed it wrong again. The teenagers were out for their socialising! Now, they might be the apple of mum and dad's eye (one would hope so) and they might be kind to younger siblings and old relatives, but en masse, they are not so endearing! And they don't talk. They SHOUT!
I was off on a much anticipated mission. I have joined the bank that provides a lounge in the city. I did not move my vast fortune, but instead bought an ISA. For those not in the UK, this is a savings thing in which you are not taxed on the (vast amount of - not!) interest. Or something. It's in a 'tax wrapper' I've been told. No idea what that's about, but things in wrappers are generally good. Very good. Magnum Classics. Bounties. Christmas presents.
I produced my ID and evidence of my investment in their company, and I was IN! I have my own wee card, which will go with me every day along with my bus pass, so that if I'm in town, in need of a peaceful sit down and free coffee (and biscuits) I know where to go. I browsed blipfoto on the iPads set out for customers' use. I read the papers. I sat on comfy chairs. I had two coffees. And a coke. I went to the lovely toilet. In fact, I could live there. Wonder if they'd notice...
These flowers were in the toilet. I didn't think they were real, but they are. I greyed out the background in Colorsplash because of the distracting (gilt) mirror behind. It's quite fun doing that - a bit like colouring in, or painting by numbers - very soothing.
There were plenty of sunbathers in the park, but after yesterday's blip, I decided to go with a sedate image today - one that's perfectly safe to go large!
