Even gets birds here

A slightly different birding experience. A gravel pit within 200 metres of the M4 was our morning destination and the reason was a male Ring-necked Duck. A much prettier bird that the female that has been lurking on North Uist all winter but I would have to say the settings were not conducive to enjoying the bird and neither was my back.
After a huge breakfast we headed across to Wellington for our first visit after retirement for a wedding party of an ex-colleague. Great fun to see so many familiar faces although disappointing not to be in great form.
