Baby Alice was born this afternoon at 3.40.

Sam phoned with the news at 4.00 whilst I was visiting Tom in hospital so we toasted the birth with a refreshing glass of tepid water, obtained from the ward drinking fountain!

Tom will stay in hospital until early next week when he will be having stents put in, which is great news as yesterday he was told he would be going down to Ednburgh for a heart bypass op.
