Those Were The Days

Thirty years ago today HMS Coventry was sunk long time ago in a land far away.
This evening I was onboard HMS Lancaster for her cocktail party.
It's great to mix with the great and good, but when half the ships company have been kept back to provide manpower for displays, guards, waiters etc its good manners to remain to the death!!
This seems to be beyond many, however I did, then go off to Weatherspoons to say 'goodbye' to Andrew.
Anyway enough of the rambling, the picture is of my brother Gary's favourite the 7.62GPMG in its Naval use.
Do you know apart from Clare, my children and grandchildren I miss having a purpose!!!
