Mute Swan

There is a serious amount of agression between the swans on the lake at the moment. It's all about territory. But they are still relatively tame so getting close isn't a problem. They come to you in anticipation of food. They then proceed to peck at your jacket and even your camera strap given the chance.

As the weather was better this afternoon we opted for a walk later in the day. It was cold, and a little windy, but the sunshine made up for that.

I love the serrated beak detail on this one and the effect of the late afternoon sun on its feathers.
