On my way back
from snappy snaps, I noticed this down a side road and so went home and picked up my camera.
It's not every day that I notice a ship of war down a side road. This one turns out to be HMS Tyne (so it's one of ours). It's a Fishery Protection Vessel. How nice that they regard the well-being of our fish so highly that they have supplied a ship to look after them:)
It actually has about 30 Royal Marines on board - so maybe they will be assaulting the town's night clubs this evening via it's inflatable boats? It has a displacement of 1677 tonnes, although it looked even bigger from down the side road (a particular optical illusion we have round here).
Anyway, you may recognise it if you watched any of the BBC series Empire of the Seas, as this ship featured in it.
