Nim Tip

We leave Don Khong at 8.30am on a small boat which drops a few people at Don Det and us at Don Khone.  On first impressions its a very pretty little island.  There is a strip of restaurants and guest houses, many in beach hut style, along the Mekong.  We find a cute little hut with Mekong views and head off to explore a little.  We head back to the hut in the early afternoon and have a visitor.  Nim Tip joins us for an hour or so, first taking many photos with our camera of chickens, air conditioning units, buckets and such like.  Then we do some drawing and play cards for a while.  She's a real little cutie and is very polite saying thank you in English when we give her a pencil and rubber. 


We relax for most of the day, eating nice food, wandering around and chilling in the hammock outside our Mekong ‘beach’ hut.
