Hanging Around
Today's the big kick off for Georgetown Soccer Club, and what a day it is. The sun's shining and FIVE THOUSAND people are expected to attend the opening day of the new season. Yes, that's right - 5,000. Any non-Canadian will find it hard to believe how popular soccer (football) is, the huge Trafalgar Road sports complex has more than 20 pitches and the games are being played from early morning to the evening.
It's Cameron's first game ever - he's in the Maroon Under Six team, while big brother Kyle (Picture Here) is playing in one of the senior teams.
I had intended to commemorate Cameron's debut (Picture Here) on this page but, just before the end of Kyle's game, a little lady found a novel way of distracting the supporters' attention by playing a different game - hoisting her pet Yorkie over her shoulder and swinging it around, legs off the ground, until a parent decided this was probably NOT a good idea.
Great day for adults and children, but one little dog was not so sure . . .
