London 2012 Day 16

With Longershanks out in Uganda at present we were cheering on Uganda's Stephen Kiprotich winning the Olympic men's marathon, beating Kenya's Abel Kirui and Wilson Kipsang. A couple of more boxing medals for Britain, a gold for Anthony Joshua with a dramatic win over Roberto Cammarelle in the super-heavyweight final and a silver for Fred Evans who ran into a better welterweight in Serik Sapiyev.
 
Today's TV shot is of Samantha Murray in the first discipline of the Modern Pentathlon. Samantha went on to win a silver medal for Great Britain in the final event of the Olympic Games.
 
So Great Britain finished with 29 golds, 17 silvers and 19 bronzes for third place in the medal table behind USA and China - I think you can call that fairly successful.
