Every ship has one!!

And we know where this one is located.

An alarm call at 6.30 this morning, in time for sunrise, to see the entry into the Great Barrier Reef area. Not much to see so, back to bed for an hour or so. We hadn’t ordered a coffee delivery so it was a bit of a shambolic start to the day. It hasn’t improved much as the time has gone on.

Good news that cyclone Nathan had reached land north of Cairns in a remote area, so minimal damage caused. We have sailed through the tail end of the cyclone and experienced a cracking storm with thunder, lightning and a good fresh water wash for the ship. It is still misty, so our views of the reef are minimal at present.

Forecast for tomorrow in Port Douglas is good, back to sunshine, 27 degrees C and high humidity.
